They Don't Call It Show Fun - They Call It Show Business
May 11, 2022There is a sign in the office at Opera Colorado that says:
They don't call it Show Fun - They call it Show Business.
In my private voice studio, we just had our Spring Recital. It was a lot of "business." We moved into a local theatre for the day, set up sound and lights, and... showtime!
"Shows" can be significant events or as simple as you singing in the car.
Just hitting the record button on your phone and singing a song without stopping is a "show."
The important thing is to sing for someone.
I think all singers will back me up on this statement - you learn SO much when you sing for an audience.
It's [almost] always "fun" for the audience, but it's an accomplishment for the performer. The singer gains confidence and a sense of pride. Performing rules!
The Sing with Josh online course will help you get prepared to sing for anyone. Think of it as your personal trainer. You'll exercise those singing muscles and work techniques that allow you to feel comfortable on stage.
